Board Members

The qualifications to be held by members of the CGM Board of Governors or its Management Committee are as follows:  to be an adult of the age of twenty-one or older; to be of sound mind and sober temperament, and meeting the Biblical qualifications ascribed to elders (Titus 1:6-8) and overseers and deacons (1 Timothy 3:1-12); to be an active member of a church within the fellowship of CGM churches, demonstrating faithfulness in church attendance and financial stewardship towards that church; possess a knowledge of and faith in the truth of Scripture; must not have been convicted of a crime within the past five (5) years; and must subscribe to CGM’s statement of faith and be willing to commit to the Vision and Mission Statement of CGM.  

To be a voting member of the Board of Governors or of the Management Committee, an individual must be a citizen of the Republic of Uganda.


To qualify for nomination to become an officer of the Board, an individual must also demonstrate prior experience in a leadership position (applicable to Board Chairman and Vice-Chairman), possess literacy and organizational skills (applicable to Board Executive Secretary) or have education, training and/or experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial management (applicable to Board Chief Financial Officer).

To serve as a Manager of a Standing or Special Purpose Temporary Committee within the Management Committee, an individual must also demonstrate that he or she possess special skills, education, training or experience that is relevant to the programs, projects or other tasks or functions being managed by that Committee.

Board Members with Qualifications

Governance of Covenant Global Ministries shall be hierarchical and not congregational. The Board of Governors (“Board”) shall determine the strategic decisions and formulate the policies and procedures of CGM, and oversee their implementation.

The day-to-day activities of the Board may be undertaken by an Executive Committee of the Board. The enactment of the Board’s decisions and the work of the organization shall be carried forward by the Management Committee of CGM, through multiple permanent standing committees and special purpose temporary committees.
